K-pop Idols gather to reenact die-hard fans of '90s idol groups on TV

A cable TV series jam-packed with K-pop artists is slated to begin its air next month, according to tvN's press release Monday.After garnering much attention with its cast members--which includes rapper Eun Ji-won, singer Seo In-guk, K-pop idols INFINITE's Hoya and A PINK's Eunji-- cable network tvN's new Tuesday series titled "Respond 1997" is about to take off on July 24.The upcoming drama will tell the story of a group of six high school students that are huge fans of the first generation of Korean idol groups in the 1990s, such as Seotaeji, H.O.T, S.E.S. and Sechs Kies.The series, which will air for about eight weeks, will also show how the once-popular idol groups begins to reminisce about the old times after receiving a wedding invitation from one of their friends. Along with the air date of the series, the broadcaster revealed a group photo of the cast donned in their high school uniforms.
