BIFF 2011│Song Hye-kyo: I will not think lightly about forgiveness anymore

Actress Song Hye-kyo says she will think long and hard before forgiving anyone from now on.She made the remark at a press conference held in Busan on Saturday for her latest film "A Reason to Live," screened as a Gala Presentation for the ongoing 16th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF)."I don't think one should forgive another just to be at peace with themselves so I won't use the term easily anymore and instead think several times more about it," she responded when asked whether her thoughts on forgiveness changed after shooting the movie where she plays Da-hye whose fiance gets killed by a teenager.Da-hye initially forgives the teenager yet while shooting a documentary on forgiveness, starts wondering whether she forgave him too easily.She then said she has yet to make up her mind on the choice she would make if she was in Da-hye's shoes. "On one hand, I'd want to forgive the kid since he is still young and has a future but on the other hand, I don't think I'd be able to forgive him because it is my fiance that I was going to live with that has died.""From this movie, I'd like people to not speak easily of forgiveness when it comes to the pain of others and to know that they have the right to not forgive," director Lee Jeong-hyang said of the movie.Lee has helmed critically acclaimed features "The Art Museum by the Zoo" and "The Way Home," and "A Reason to Live" is her first pic in nine years.Also starring actors Song Chang-eui, Ki Tae-young and teenage actress Nam Ji-hyun, "A Reason to Live" will open nationwide on October 27. ※ Any copying, republication or redistribution of 10Asia's content is expressly prohibited without prior consent of 10Asia.
