SISTAR to release album of their first sub unit in May

Girl group SISTAR will pursue its singing activities through a sub unit starting next week, informed their agency Starship Entertainment on Thursday. According to a press release by Starship, SISTAR will soon introduce their first sub-group SISTAR19 formed of main vocalist Hyolyn and rapper Bora, whose first digital single “MA BOY” will go on sale on May 3. The statement explained that the number 19 implies a sense of innocence and insecurity felt at the age where females border between the sentiment of a girl versus a woman which the group plans to express through their music.Teaser images of the sub-group in black and white photographs was released today, featuring the two girls sitting on a sofa and striking various poses. “Hyolyn’s explosive singing voice and Bora’s solid rap will demonstrate an energy which will be unlike any other girl group out there,” an official at Starship was quoted as saying in the statement. SISTAR, composed of other members Soyou and Dasom, released their debut single "Push Push" in June last year. Two months later the girls returned to the local music scene with their second single "Shady Girl" which ranked in the top 3 of several online and offline music charts. The quartet's third single “How Dare You” which went on sale last December, too was received well, ranked on top slots of several online music charts.
