“World Invasion” rules box office chart for 2nd week

SF war film “World Invasion: Battle of Los Angeles” dominated Korea's weekend box office for the second time, informed the Korean Box Office Information System (KOBIS) on Monday. “World Invasion,” starring Aaron Eckhart, Ramon Rodriguez and Cory Hardrict, about Marine Corps and other military forces joining to fight back hostile alien forces that landed on earth, attracted 253,942 moviegoers after opening in 370 theaters nationwide. “The King’s Speech” soared nine steps from the previous week to claim second place on the latest weekend chart after collecting 205,612 tickets in 385 theaters since premiering on March 17. Starring Colin Firth, Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham Carter, the film is based on the true story of late King George VI of the United Kingdom who struggled to cure his speaking problem in order to address his people properly in public speeches,Dark fantasy “Red Riding Hood” which opened on same day as “The King’s Speech,” drew in a total 164,828 audiences after opening in 288 theaters, placing itself third on the latest box office chart. “Red Riding Hood” starring Amanda Seyfried, Gary Oldman, Billy Burke and Shiloh Fernandez, begins with a story combines the romance of a young lady donned in red riding hood in a town terrorized by a werewolf whose true identity remains obscure.
