Singer Jung Jae-hyung has stated that he is not related to the possibility of broadcaster Park Narae's involvement in illegal medical activities.
On December 10, Jung Jae-hyung's agency, Antenna, released an official statement, saying, "We are issuing this statement to correct the misinformation that is being spread," and added, "Jung Jae-hyung does not have any personal relationship or even an acquaintance with person A."
Singer Jung Jaehyung has stated that he is not involved in the allegations of illegal medical practices related to broadcaster Park Narae. Antenna.
The agency emphasized that, in order to prevent further misunderstandings regarding the controversial variety show episode, it is making it clear that Jung Jae-hyung has no connection whatsoever to the matter.
Earlier that morning, suspicions were raised about whether Jung Jae-hyung was linked to the so-called "Injection Aunt" mentioned in the Park Narae controversy. The issue arose after a video titled "After 8 hours of making kimchi, Park Narae and Jung Jae-hyung book IV drips" was released on MBC's official YouTube channel.
The video in question was from an episode aired on December 13 last year. In that episode, Park Narae and singer-composer Jung Jae-hyung were shown preparing 80 heads of kimchi together. Jung Jae-hyung said to Park Narae, "When you book your IV tomorrow, I need to get one too," to which Park Narae replied, "Okay, let's book the IV together." This scene was revisited after the "Injection Aunt" allegations against Park Narae surfaced, and as a result, MBC set all videos containing the relevant remarks to private.
The current controversy began with revelations made by two of Park Narae's former managers, who resigned last month. The former managers claimed, "There was verbal abuse, orders for personal errands, and unreimbursed work expenses," and have taken legal action. They have filed for a provisional seizure of real estate worth about 100 million won and have also initiated a lawsuit for damages.
During this process, allegations emerged that Park Narae had repeatedly received illegal medical services such as IV injections and proxy prescriptions from person A, known as "Injection Aunt," who does not have a medical license in Korea.
On December 8, Park Narae announced through a statement that she would be suspending her broadcasting activities. She explained, "In early November, two managers who were like family to me suddenly resigned, and since then, I have not had the opportunity to speak with them, which led to misunderstandings. Only yesterday was I able to meet with my former managers and resolve the misunderstandings and distrust between us." She also clarified that there was nothing legally problematic about the medical procedures in question, stating that, due to her busy filming schedule, it was difficult to visit the hospital, so she requested house calls from the doctors and nurses of the hospital she usually attended.
The Gangnam Police Station has received a complaint through the National Sinmungo system accusing Park Narae and "Injection Aunt" of violating the Narcotics Control Act (psychotropic substances), the Medical Service Act, and the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act.
In addition, former Korean Medical Association president Lim Hyuntaek has filed a complaint with the prosecution against "Injection Aunt" for violating the Medical Service Act, and the association has also stated, "This is clearly a violation of the Medical Service Act and the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act, which seriously threatens public health." The Ministry of Health and Welfare has also announced that it is considering an administrative investigation.
