On December 8 (local time), U.S. President Donald Trump announced via his self-created social networking service, Truth Social, that he had informed Chinese President Xi Jinping that Nvidia would be allowed to sell its 'H200' chips to approved customers in China and other countries.
He added, "This will be done under the condition that strong national security continues to be ensured," and stated, "President Xi responded positively to this. Twenty-five percent of the sales revenue will be paid to the United States."
He further explained, "Nvidia's U.S. customers are already using the highly advanced 'Blackwell' chips, and 'Rubin' will be introduced soon. These are not included in this agreement."
He also noted that the U.S. Department of Commerce is finalizing the related details and that the same approach will be applied to other American companies such as AMD and Intel.
