On October 16, at Lakewood Country Club in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province (par 72, 6,605 yards), Hanjin Sun carded one eagle, five birdies, and one bogey in the first round of the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour SangSangin-Hankyung Wow Net Open, which has a total prize fund of 1.2 billion won. With a 6-under-par 66 on the opening day, she entered the race for the championship.

Hanjin Sun lost her early momentum by following a birdie on the 4th hole (par 5) with a bogey on the 6th hole (par 3), but she turned things around by making a shot eagle on the 7th hole (par 5). On the back nine, she joined the title contention by securing four consecutive birdies from holes 10 to 13. However, she was unable to further reduce her score on the remaining five holes, which was a disappointment.

Hanjin Sun is the player who achieved back-to-back victories at the High1 Resort Women's Open in 2022 and 2023. This year, she has participated in 19 tournaments, finishing in the top 10 six times, including one runner-up finish, but has yet to claim a win. She currently ranks 24th on the money list with 375.69 million won.
