It was belatedly reported that the girlfriend of comedian Lee Jin-ho (age 39), who recently sparked controversy over drunk driving, was found dead.
According to the Bupyeong Police Station in Incheon on October 10, a friend discovered Ms. A deceased in an apartment in Bupyeong District at around 8:30 a.m. on October 5 and reported it to the police.
Ms. A was confirmed to be the girlfriend of comedian Lee Jin-ho, who was recently booked on suspicion of drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act. Lee is suspected of driving under the influence from Incheon to Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province, in the early morning of September 24 after consuming alcohol. At the time, his blood alcohol concentration was measured at 0.11%, exceeding the license revocation threshold of 0.08%.
The police are currently investigating the specific circumstances of the incident, including whether there is any connection between Lee's drunk driving case and Ms. A's death. A police official stated, "No criminal suspicions have been confirmed," and added, "In consideration of the bereaved family, it is difficult to disclose further details."
