A Variety of Attractions Prepared

Cheorwon County in Gangwon Province (Governor Lee Hyun-jong) announced that it will extend the operating hours of major tourist attractions and present a variety of nighttime tourism content for hometown visitors and tourists during the Chuseok holiday period, which runs from October 3 to October 9, 2025.

The Goseokjeong Flower Garden will operate as usual throughout the holiday period, including Chuseok (October 6), providing visitors with a place to relax and enjoy the scenery. In addition, the DMZ Security Tour will be closed from October 5 to 7, but will operate normally on the other days.


Performances and Media Art Embracing History and Culture (Cheorwon History & Culture Park & Nodong Party Headquarters)

Cheorwon History & Culture Park and the Nodong Party Headquarters will host a variety of programs and nighttime content.


First, the regular performance "1930 Cheorwon! Modern Times - Hongdoya, Hongnyeoya, Don't Cry" will be held at the Sundial Square. The performance is scheduled for October 3, 4, 5, 8 (twice), and 9 (from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.).


At the same time, the "2025 National Heritage Media Art Cheorwon Nodong Party Headquarters" will take place from September 26 to October 26, transforming modern history and natural heritage into media art and creating a nighttime attraction that can be enjoyed by all generations. (7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., free admission)


Additionally, branded content experience programs such as "Cheorwon Patriots - Deliver the Independence Fund" and "Crane's Treasure Hunt" will be held. These are hands-on tourism programs in which visitors complete mobile app-based AR missions at eight major facilities, and are expected to be especially popular among families. (9:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., paid admission)


Nighttime Tourism Experiences in Nature (Sambuyeon Trail & Torchlight Observatory)

From September 26 to October 26, the Sambuyeon Waterfall and Oryong Cave area will host a pilot run of the "Sambuyeon Trail ICEWATERFALL with Jeong Seon." (Daytime: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. / Nighttime: 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., free admission) Visitors can enjoy a unique experience that combines media art and nighttime landscapes in a natural setting.


In addition, from September 26 to October 25, the Cheorwon Hantangang Milky Way Bridge and Torchlight Observatory will operate at night every Friday and Saturday, as well as during the Chuseok holiday. (Daytime: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. / Nighttime: 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.) From sunset until 10:00 p.m., scenic lighting will be displayed, and every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, a nighttime lighting performance (seven times a day, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., each lasting 15 minutes) will be held, allowing visitors to enjoy a fantastic landscape of lights and music.


A Cheorwon County official stated, "We have prepared a variety of programs that families can enjoy together during this Chuseok holiday period. In particular, there will be a wealth of nighttime content, so we hope many people will create unforgettable holiday memories in Cheorwon."
