The event, held the previous day, was attended by Donggyu Lee, Head of Communications Division at Lotte Home Shopping, Seokju Kang, Seoul Metropolitan Council Member, Sejong Han, Secretary General of the Salvation Army, and other officials. The donated goods from Lotte Home Shopping were sold at discounts of up to 50%. The proceeds from these sales will be used for building "Small Libraries," eco-friendly learning spaces for children of future generations promoted by Lotte Home Shopping, as well as for scholarships and medical expenses for youth.
Donggyu Lee stated, "This bazaar is a meaningful example of the virtuous cycle in which corporate donations and citizen participation are connected as one, and sharing is returned to the community," adding, "We will continue to practice ongoing sharing activities and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management as a partner growing together with the local community."
Meanwhile, since 2013, Lotte Home Shopping has been operating the "Small Library" project with the Salvation Army. Under the slogan "The Place Where the Biggest Dreams Grow," the project provides eco-friendly learning spaces to children in educational and welfare blind spots nationwide. Starting with the first location in Gangseo-gu, Seoul in 2013, the 50th branch in Jeju City in 2017, and a special 10th anniversary library at Seoul Jeongjin School, a special education school, in 2023, a total of 98 "Small Libraries" have been established across the country. The goal is to open the 100th branch within this year.
