Fire Extinguished Completely Within 30 Minutes of Outbreak
On August 8, a fire broke out on a yacht floating on the Han River near Banpodaegyo Bridge in Seoul, prompting the passengers to evacuate.
According to fire authorities, at around 8:45 p.m. that day, six people aboard the yacht evacuated when the fire started and are currently receiving emergency treatment from firefighters.
There were no fatalities from the fire, and it has been reported that the individuals sustained only minor injuries.
Authorities, responding to a report that "the yacht is on fire," dispatched 19 vehicles and 61 personnel, and managed to completely extinguish the blaze by 9:16 p.m., approximately 30 minutes after the fire broke out.
A fire department official stated, "The six people with minor injuries are either being transported to the hospital or are in the process of being transferred," adding, "The exact cause of the fire is under investigation."
