GS Caltex Unveils New API-Certified Engine Oil and Renews 'Kixx' Brand for 20th Anniversary

Launch of API "SQ" Certified Product in the U.S.
Enhanced Engine Protection and Fuel Efficiency... Kixx GX7
Brand Renewal: New Logo, Packaging, and Slogan

GS Caltex has launched a new gasoline engine oil product, "Kixx GX7," which has received the latest "SQ" certification from the American Petroleum Institute (API). This premium synthetic oil is designed to reduce engine wear while also improving fuel efficiency, taking both economic value and vehicle durability into consideration.

On August 5, GS Caltex announced the introduction of Kixx GX7, which has obtained API SQ certification. The SQ grade represents the latest gasoline engine oil quality standard released by the American Petroleum Institute after five years. This product is particularly enhanced to reduce wear on the timing chain, a metal chain inside the engine, and to prevent damage caused by low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI) during low-speed driving.

Additionally, the product ensures reliable engine starts even in cold weather, and during the summer months when engines are prone to overheating, it helps improve fuel efficiency by minimizing power loss. The oil is formulated to maintain stable viscosity and resist depletion, which extends the oil change interval.

In addition to this new product, GS Caltex offers a range of lubricants, including "Kixx PAO," which uses high-performance synthetic base oil (PAO), "Kixx GX" for passenger vehicles, and "Kixx DX" for commercial vehicles such as trucks.

With the launch of this new product, GS Caltex is also undertaking a complete brand renewal to mark the 20th anniversary of its specialized lubricant brand, Kixx. Established in 2005 alongside the founding of GS Caltex, Kixx products are used not only in automobiles but also in electric and hybrid vehicles, ships, industrial turbines, and, more recently, in cooling oils for data centers.

GS Caltex has redesigned the Kixx logo, incorporating the flow and curves of lubricants into a sophisticated new look, and changed the brand slogan to "Lubricating the Future," reflecting the brand’s commitment to leading a better future beyond machinery.

A GS Caltex representative stated, "Lubricants are essential for the operation of all machinery," and added, "Kixx will continue to grow as a driving force for a sustainable future, not only in Korea but also in the global market."
