Since this month, the Financial Supervisory Service has been conducting "visiting finance subject special lectures" to encourage more students to choose the newly established high school elective subject "Finance and Economic Life." After subject selection procedures for first-year high school students in the second half of the year, full-scale classes are scheduled to begin next year.
During a meeting with school officials, Director Kim promised to support the development of teaching materials for finance classes. She also informed the approximately 90 first-year high school students who attended the lecture that the finance subject is a practical, real-life-centered course that will help them manage their financial lives after entering society.
Park Hyunju, Vice President of Shinhan Bank, also visited the school to encourage the students.
The Financial Supervisory Service plans to accept applications until the end of next month and hold special lectures through the end of October.
