According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the highest temperature in Seoul on this day will be 36 degrees Celsius. Incheon and Daejeon will reach 34 degrees, Gwangju 35 degrees, Daegu 32 degrees, and Ulsan and Busan 30 degrees, all generally exceeding the average temperatures for this time of year.
On Sunday, July 12, the intensity of the heatwave is expected to ease somewhat due to changes in the pressure system. However, temperatures are not expected to drop significantly.
In the afternoon, ozone levels will reach 'bad' levels in some western areas, including Incheon, southern Gyeonggi, Chungnam, and Jeonnam. Jeju Island is expected to receive 5 to 30 millimeters of rain from the afternoon until Sunday night.
Starting on this day, the strong lunar gravitational pull will cause higher sea levels. Coastal low-lying areas may be flooded during high tide, so caution and preparation are advised.
