Dyson is introducing its 'Supersonic r Hair Dryer,' which was originally launched as a professional-only hair dryer, as a model for general consumers.
On July 10, Dyson announced that it will release the Supersonic r Hair Dryer for general consumers. First launched in August of last year as a professional model, the Dyson Supersonic r Hair Dryer is the lightest and most powerful product among Dyson's hair devices.
The performance of this model has been proven by hair professionals, as it has been actively used backstage at major fashion weeks and in renowned salons both in Korea and abroad. With growing interest and demand from general consumers, Dyson is now making the Supersonic r Hair Dryer available for home use, enabling salon-quality styling at home.
The most notable feature is its redesigned exterior, which adopts a curved design reminiscent of the letter 'r,' setting it apart from the original Supersonic Hair Dryer. Incorporating Dyson's advanced technology, the size has been reduced by 30%, and the main unit weighs 325g, making it 20% lighter and reducing wrist strain. Additionally, its ergonomic design allows users to comfortably style even hard-to-reach areas such as hair roots.

The Dyson Supersonic r Hair Dryer is equipped with a compact, lightweight, and high power density ultra-fast responsive heater. Ten heater foils, evenly distributed along the curve of the device, deliver heat evenly to the powerful airflow generated by the motor. This ensures uniform airflow and temperature, enabling fast and precise drying without excessive heat damage.
The product comes with five styling nozzles: Power Dry Nozzle, Pro Concentrator, Gentle Dry Nozzle, Smoothing Nozzle, and Flyaway Nozzle, allowing for a wide variety of styles. Each styling nozzle features a smart styling nozzle function. When a tool is attached to the main unit, the optimal temperature and airflow speed recommended by hair professionals are automatically set, maximizing styling results. In addition, the device can remember and recall the last settings used by the user.
