The 3rd Club D Amateur Eco Championship concluded successfully.
The tournament was held on June 6 at Club D Boeun in North Chungcheong Province. More than 180 of the nation's top amateur players participated. In the women's division, Gahhee Kim (Ulsan Gyeongui High School, 3rd year) claimed victory, while in the men's division, Seungwan Heo (Bibong Middle School, 3rd year) took first place. As in professional tournaments, all rounds were played in a walking play format. The event featured several memorable moments, including four hole-in-ones during the competition.
The Club D Amateur Eco Championship is an ESG-based golf culture project hosted by the environmental specialist company YIDO since 2023. The tournament aims to foster the next generation of golf players who possess not only skill but also character and a sense of responsibility. This year's event will be broadcast as a recorded program on the SBS Golf channel at the end of this month.
This tournament was hosted by YIDO and organized by the Korea Golf Association (KGA). Official sponsors included alternative investment management company Hangang Asset Management and the public interest foundation Didimdol Foundation.
Choi Junghoon, CEO of YIDO, stated, "I hope this tournament served as a turning point for young athletes to grow through real-world experience, beyond simply competing for victory," adding, "We will continue to introduce global-level junior education programs and fulfill our responsible role in creating a sustainable golf ecosystem."
