Introducing Chipotle Mayo Sauce Flavor and Garlic Cheongyang Mayo Sauce Flavor
Orion announced on May 29 that it has launched two new varieties of its non-fried potato chips, Yegam, with added dipping sauces: 'Jjikmeok Yegam Chipotle Mayo Sauce Flavor' and 'Jjikmeok Yegam Garlic Cheongyang Mayo Sauce Flavor'.
'Jjikmeok Yegam Chipotle Mayo Sauce Flavor' combines the salty and savory taste of 'Yegam Cheese Gratin Flavor' with an exotic chipotle mayo sauce for a unique flavor experience. 'Jjikmeok Yegam Garlic Cheongyang Mayo Sauce Flavor' enhances the umami and aroma by adding a spicy garlic Cheongyang mayo sauce to 'Yegam Stir-fried Onion Flavor'. Orion's Global Research Institute developed both products with a thicker chip compared to existing ones, as the key to the flavor is dipping them in the sauce, ensuring that Yegam's clean taste blends well with the sauces.
Orion has recently introduced 'Jjikmeok' products that allow consumers to enjoy snacks in a convenient and unique way, in line with trends such as 'Modisumer' and 'Naesipi', which involve enjoying food in various ways according to personal preferences. Since April, Orion has also been introducing special snack recipes each month through a segment called 'Orion on the Table' on its official Instagram and blog. Recipes such as 'New Nurungji & Yegam Amuse-bouche' and 'Kkobuk Chip Tomato Cheese Gratin', developed directly by Market O Restaurant’s head chef Hwang Yohan, allow consumers to easily make finger foods at home using Orion snacks, gaining popularity among younger generations.
An Orion representative stated, "We launched the 'Jjikmeok' products after finding sauce combinations that pair well with the oven-baked, clean taste of Yegam, so that consumers can enjoy them in a variety of ways," adding, "Since potato chips are a popular snack for watching movies, dramas, or sports games, they are also perfect for enjoying lightly with beer."
