Jung Yuyeon Sued for Defamation After Criticizing Lawmaker Bae Hyunjin on Social Media

Jung Yuyeon, daughter of Choi Seowon (formerly known as Choi Soon Sil), has been sued after posting a message on social media criticizing Bae Hyunjin, a lawmaker from the People Power Party.


On the 21st, Namyangju Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced that it had taken over the case involving Jung, who was booked on defamation charges, from Songpa Police Station in Seoul.

Previously, Jung was accused of posting on social media that Bae had "shifted her support from Han Donghun to former Governor Kim Moonsoo" and suggesting that "the person who assaulted him in the past should reappear."


In response, Bae stated on social media, "I will handle this calmly through legal and financial means," and her aide submitted a complaint against Jung to Songpa Police Station.


A police official said, "After completing the investigation of the complainant, we took over the case today," adding, "We plan to summon Jung soon for questioning as the accused."
