Prosecution Demands Reinvestigation of Yoon Geon-yeong and An Gwi-ryeong over 'Yoon's Residence Renovation Rumors'

On the 9th, the Criminal Division 6 of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Chu Jang-hyun) announced that it requested the Guro Police Station to reinvestigate the defamation case involving false facts against Representative Yoon and spokesperson Ahn, which had been decided the previous day. The police had made a non-prosecution decision regarding Representative Yoon and spokesperson Ahn in February.

Representative Yoon and spokesperson Ahn are accused of spreading false information. In December last year, Representative Yoon stated on a radio show that he had received a tip that former President Yoon's side attempted to renovate the Samcheong-dong safe house into a bar-like establishment early in the administration, and spokesperson Ahn issued a statement with similar content on the same day. At that time, the Presidential Security Service refuted this, and Lee Jong-bae, a Seoul city councilor from the People Power Party, filed a complaint accusing Representative Yoon and spokesperson Ahn of spreading false information.
