Experience Pours into Open Library... Frequent Visits to Busan City Hall, 'Library Week Event'

A Variety of Events Including Puppet Shows, Author Meet-and-Greets, and Fairy Tale Cooking

In celebration of Library Week, a variety of events will be held at Deullaknalak, the Open Library at Busan City Hall.

The Busan Metropolitan Government (Mayor Park Hyungjoon) announced on the 31st that, in honor of the 61st Library Week (April 12?18), it has prepared a range of events at City Hall's Deullaknalak under the theme "Seeds that Nurture Dreams, Planted in the Library."

To widely promote the value and importance of libraries and allow citizens to fully enjoy a culture of reading, family-friendly programs centered around Deullaknalak are waiting to be enjoyed by all generations.

There will be a puppet show performance of "The Lion and the Grateful Mouse," a meet-and-greet with Gomusin, author of the book "Noldabomyeon," and a fairy tale cooking activity where participants read stories and engage in hands-on experiences.

All events are free of charge, and detailed schedules, including how to participate in the programs, can be found on the City Hall Open Library Deullaknalak website.

Kim Guiok, Director of Youth and Industry-Academia Affairs at Busan City, said, "I hope this Library Week will be a precious time to discover the joy of reading and nurture everyone's dreams."

City Hall's Deullaknalak serves as the anchor facility for the 105 Deullaknalak children's multi-cultural spaces established throughout the city, providing reading and play areas as well as digital experiences such as Meta Door.
