60% of Subscribers Are in Their 40s and 50s... Eight Out of Ten Also Use "Growing Money Tree"
Instant Cash Rewards Available
K Bank announced on the 13th that its "Receiving Allowance" service, launched in partnership with Buzzvil last January, surpassed 1 million subscribers within just two months of its release.
Receiving Allowance is a service where users participate in various daily missions provided by partners, such as subscribing to social networking services (SNS), visiting pages, and checking insurance, and receive rewards.
Additionally, there are features like "Receive Daily Allowance" and "Press Button to Receive Allowance" that provide rewards even without completing missions, allowing users to earn small amounts of pocket money.
Because users can complete simple daily missions and earn steady income, the service has gained popularity among app-tech enthusiasts, leading to over 1 million subscribers in just two months.
Notably, subscribers in their 40s and 50s account for 60% of the total, showing active usage among middle-aged and older adults. Among all subscribers, those in their 40s make up the largest portion at 31.6%, followed by those in their 50s (27.8%) and 30s (20.7%).
App-tech, which began trending mainly among the MZ generation, is gaining popularity among middle-aged and older adults through word of mouth. According to the "Financial App-Tech Usage Survey" published by the Korea Consumer Agency in July last year, middle-aged adults aged 40 and above accumulate more points through app-tech than younger users under 30, indicating more active usage.
Furthermore, eight out of ten Receiving Allowance subscribers (78.8%) also use "Growing Money Tree," enjoying daily rewards and substantial app-tech benefits.
Growing Money Tree is a representative app-tech service introduced by K Bank in March last year. Users receive cash rewards by nurturing a money tree daily with water and nutrients. If the money tree reaches the final growth stage, a maximum reward of 100,000 KRW is provided.
Rewards earned through K Bank’s app-tech services, Receiving Allowance and Growing Money Tree, are deposited in real-time into K Bank accounts and provided as cash that can be used immediately. Any customer aged 14 or older holding a Hi teen or K Bank deposit and withdrawal account can participate.
A K Bank representative said, "As app-tech, which offers rewards through simple participation amid high inflation, becomes a trend, it is gaining popularity across all generations," adding, "We plan to continue leading trends and introduce various services that enhance financial benefits."
