Samsung has established a Management Diagnosis Office within its think tank, Samsung Global Research, and appointed Choi Yoon-ho, President and CEO of Samsung SDI, as its head. The 'Management Diagnosis Office' is a specialized consulting organization that diagnoses and supports the improvement of management, organization, and work processes upon request from affiliates. It is interpreted as an intention to prevent crises in advance or detect them early. Choi Ju-seon, President of Samsung Display, has been nominated as the successor to Samsung SDI's CEO, and Lee Cheong, Vice President of Samsung Display, has been promoted to President to become the new CEO. Lee Jun-hee, Vice President of Samsung Electronics, has been nominated as the CEO of Samsung SDS.


On the 28th, Samsung carried out the 2025 executive personnel reshuffle for its electronics affiliates with these changes. This is a follow-up to the Samsung Electronics executive reshuffle announced the previous day.

Choi Yoon-ho, who was appointed head of the Management Diagnosis Office, previously served as head of Samsung Electronics' Europe General Management Support Team, strategy team of the Future Strategy Office, Business Support TF, and head of Samsung Electronics' Management Support Office before becoming CEO of the battery manufacturing affiliate Samsung SDI at the end of 2021. He is regarded as a representative 'financial expert' executive within Samsung.


Samsung explained the establishment of the Management Diagnosis Office as "to overcome an uncertain management environment and lay the foundation for a new leap forward," adding that it will "carry out the mission of enhancing the business competitiveness of affiliates and securing management soundness."


Choi Ju-seon, the nominated CEO of Samsung SDI, is an engineer-turned-executive who earned a Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from KAIST and has held positions such as head of DRAM development at Samsung Electronics' Memory Business Division, head of North America for the Semiconductor (DS) Division, and head and CEO of Samsung Display's Large Display Business Division.

Lee Cheong, the new CEO of Samsung Display, holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Pohang University of Science and Technology and is a display technology expert who has extensive experience in LCD and OLED development and process technologies through his work at Samsung Electronics' LCD Business Division and Samsung Display. After serving as head of the Small and Medium Display Business Division's Development Office in 2020, he was appointed division head in 2022 and has led the solid performance of the small and medium display business.


Lee Jun-hee, the nominated CEO of Samsung SDS, graduated from Seoul National University’s Department of Electronic Engineering and earned a master's and Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from MIT in the United States. He is an IT and telecommunications technology expert who joined Samsung Electronics' DMC Research Institute in 2006 and has demonstrated technological leadership and management capabilities through roles such as head of the Wireless Business Division's Technology Strategy Team and head of the Network Business Division's Development Team.


Jang Deok-hyun, CEO of Samsung Electro-Mechanics, who was rumored to possibly move to Samsung Electronics' System LSI Business Division, has been retained.
