On the 25th, Asan City in Chungnam announced that it has set next year's budget at 1.8016 trillion won.
This is an increase of 190.1 billion won compared to this year's budget.
The city focused on securing urban growth engines, the tourism industry, creating a city full of relaxation and healing, policies that warmly embrace all citizens, and expanding major infrastructure.
Specifically, 638.1 billion won was allocated to social welfare and health, 348.3 billion won to infrastructure such as environment, road transportation, and urban development, 194 billion won to industrial promotion, and 103.6 billion won to culture, tourism, sports, and lifelong education.
In addition, 120.7 billion won was allocated to public administration and safety, and 221.7 billion won was set aside for contingency and other areas.
Jo Ilgyo, Acting Mayor of Asan, said, "Next year marks the 30th anniversary of the unified launch of Asan City, a meaningful milestone that will serve as a springboard for us to leap forward as the best city in the nation. I ask for the support and cooperation of the city council for the uninterrupted development of the city and the happy lives of all citizens."
