Nexon, the largest game company in Korea known for its high salaries and excellent welfare benefits, has launched a large-scale recruitment drive.
On the 14th, Nexon Company announced, "About 2,000 people participated in the internship recruitment briefing session 'Country of Recruitment,' held over two days on the 12th and 13th at the Nexon Pangyo headquarters." Nexon is popular among job seekers for offering a starting salary of approximately 50 million KRW for new employees, recharge leave and vacation expense support, and operating a 'flexible working hours system' that allows employees to freely choose their commuting times. As a result, numerous applicants flock to each recruitment.
Nexon employees' salaries are among the highest in the gaming industry, with an average annual salary per person reportedly reaching about 110 million KRW. While many companies freeze or slightly increase wages due to the economic downturn, Nexon has been dramatically raising wages and welfare benefits every year. Most game companies have suspended new hiring due to deteriorating performance caused by the economic recession, but Nexon has taken the unusual step of conducting large-scale recruitment once again.
The 'Nektorial' recruitment, which began on the 8th, is currently underway across four corporations?Nexon Korea, Nexon Games, Neople, and Nexon Universe?with a total of 10 departments hiring in the triple digits. Applications are open until 5 p.m. on the 21st via the 2024 'Nektorial' recruitment webpage. Anyone interested in games and the gaming industry, whether already graduated or expected to graduate in February 2025, and who can work full-time during the internship period, is eligible to apply. Successful candidates will be selected through document screening, job competency tests, and interviews, and will work as interns for six months starting January 13, 2025. Interns will receive salaries and welfare benefits equivalent to regular employees, and those whose abilities and qualifications are verified will be converted to full-time employees without any personnel limits.
