Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that the collection of household waste will be temporarily suspended for three days from August 1 to August 3.

The temporary suspension of household waste collection is a measure to allow sanitation workers of the cleaning subcontractor to comfortably take their summer vacation without the burden of cleaning duties. The district has been implementing a full summer vacation system for sanitation workers since 2017.

Residents can dispose of household waste starting from 6 p.m. on August 4, after the sanitation workers' vacation period.

To minimize inconvenience to residents caused by the temporary suspension of waste collection, an emergency situation room will be operated. A mobile team composed of directly managed environmental officers from the district office and sanitation workers from the cleaning subcontractor will be deployed to handle urgent waste collection and complaints related to daily inconveniences.

The district is actively informing residents through various media by posting banners on main roads and residential areas announcing the suspension of household waste collection, and distributing promotional leaflets via community centers and the cleaning subcontractor.
