Previously, Woo worked for over 10 years at an airline and a bank before becoming a lecturer. Through Instagram and other platforms, he shared interview tips with job seekers aiming to become flight attendants or bankers.

In the recent video, Woo appeared wearing patient clothes with the left side of his head sunken in. He began by saying, "My head must look very different. My hair is short, and the left side of my skull is mostly empty, almost nonexistent."

He continued, "About two-fifths of my left skull, that is, the left brain, has been removed, and my left skull is currently in the freezer." He added, "Every day, every moment, my head hurts as if it’s going to burst, and this kind of pain is something I’ve never experienced before." It is known that Woo still has one more surgery left.

"I’m lucky and positive... I will work hard to recover"

Woo’s accident occurred last January. While traveling in India to give a lecture for aspiring flight attendants, he fell backward and severely injured his waist and head. Due to brain hemorrhage and brain edema, he underwent craniotomy surgery. Forty percent of his left skull had to be removed.

The news Woo heard from the doctor after surgery was bleak. About 95% of the left brain was damaged, which could cause language and cognitive impairments. Woo said, "My entire brain was shifted 7mm to the left, and the bleeding was severe, damaging the nerves around my left ear and nose a lot. Language impairment was inevitable."

He revealed that right after surgery, it was difficult for him to recall appropriate words. For example, he called his mother "father" or referred to his younger husband as "older brother." He couldn’t remember the word for water purifier and said "cold water dispenser" instead, and he expressed "rain is coming" when he meant "car is coming."

Woo shared his vocabulary study notebook, saying, "It was so shocking to see myself losing words. I’m studying language therapy workbooks and have bought and read more than ten books that elementary, middle, and high school students read."

In the current video, Woo spoke very fluently. He said that habits like recording and reading books, as well as his experience giving lectures, seemed to help him overcome his disabilities. He also added, "The doctor told me that I’m lucky and positive, which is why I’m doing well."

Woo, who previously published a book titled 'I Am a Flight Attendant of a Stopped Airplane,' also expressed his intention to focus on finishing his second book after completing the upcoming surgery. Additionally, he announced that he would share stories about his daily life and reading through future videos.

As of the 14th, ten days after the video’s release, it had recorded 1.55 million views. Netizens left supportive comments such as "You will definitely recover," "I feel strength within your gentle personality," "It’s amazing how you stay positive and overcome adversity," and "Your smile is really bright and beautiful."
