The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization announced on the 6th that it will publicly recruit operators for the Imjingak store, whose remodeling will be completed by the end of August, until the 29th of this month.

Considering the symbolism and historical significance of the Imjingak building, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization plans to prioritize selecting store operators who propose specialized content befitting this. Imjingak is a building with one basement floor and three above-ground floors, and after remodeling, its total floor area is 2,358㎡.

Detailed information about this Imjingak store operator recruitment can be found on the Korea ON-line E-Procurement System (www.g2b.go.kr) or the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization website (www.gto.or.kr).

Imjingak was established in 1972 to commemorate the pain of the Korean War and the reality of division, and to serve as a potential meeting place for separated families from the North and South. It is a symbol of peace and hope as well as a historic site. The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization acquired this building in 2004.

Jo Won-yong, President of the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, stated, "We will partner with operators who can well understand and develop a future-oriented vision for Imjingak Peace Nuri, and continuously strive to make Imjingak a beloved attraction for domestic and international tourists."

Meanwhile, Imjingak has been undergoing remodeling since August last year, with a construction cost of 6 billion KRW.
