Samsung Electronics has launched a large-scale recruitment of experienced professionals in its Device Experience (DX) division, which is responsible for TV, home appliances, and mobile businesses. This move appears to be aimed at securing top talent across the board to establish a super-gap competitive edge, especially after experiencing poor performance due to last year's economic downturn.
According to industry sources on the 14th, Samsung Electronics is recruiting experienced professionals for the DX division until the 26th. There are about 90 job positions available.
While the company has occasionally hired talent as needed by each business unit, it is very unusual to conduct simultaneous recruitment across almost all job categories like this.
Looking at the recruitment announcements, Samsung Research is seeking talent related to artificial intelligence (AI). They plan to hire experienced professionals to conduct research and development on large language models (LLM), multimodal generative AI models, and generative on-device AI technologies in areas such as language AI, speech AI, and vision AI.
The Visual Display (VD) business unit is recruiting individuals with experience in the digital advertising industry to handle Samsung Smart TV advertising marketing and global advertising revenue analysis, as well as those with experience in game business strategy to establish and execute game service business partnerships related to Samsung Electronics' video devices.
They are also hiring candidates with over two years of experience in AI, machine learning, and data analysis, as well as those with experience in central processing unit (CPU) related systems and system-on-chip (SoC) development.
Preference will be given to candidates with sales and marketing experience in the Middle East and Africa regions.
The Mobile Experience (MX) business unit plans to recruit experienced professionals to develop security strategies and related solutions. Candidates with awards in hacking competitions will be given preference.
They are also recruiting DRAM engineers to discuss improvement directions for low-power application processors (APs) with AP suppliers. (APs are semiconductors that act as the brain of smartphones.)
The Digital Appliances (DA) business unit is seeking candidates with experience related to customer experience and multi-device experience (CX·MDE), areas emphasized by Vice Chairman Han Jong-hee. They also plan to hire experienced professionals in smart circuit development and smart appliance quality.
The Global CS Center is recruiting talent with over four years of experience in generative AI development and verification.
The New Business Task Force (TF) is looking for experienced professionals in platform and service planning, architecture design and development, and user experience (UX) design to build the Samsung Health platform.
The Automotive Electronics (Auto Electronics) business team is recruiting talent to strengthen the consumer audio business between Samsung Electronics and Harman, plan new businesses in the automotive electronics field, and promote mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
Additionally, candidates with experience in brand marketing strategies for delivering integrated value under 'One Samsung' are also included in the recruitment targets.
