The G7, a CGM developed by Dexcom, features an integrated sensor and transmitter, reducing the size of the body attachment area by 60% compared to the previous 'G6'. The system warm-up time has also been significantly shortened to 30 minutes, and accuracy, indicated by the Mean Absolute Relative Difference (MARD), has been improved, enabling more precise glucose monitoring. CGM automatically measures blood glucose inside the body when the sensor is attached and transmits the data to smart devices such as smartphones. Compared to the traditional self-monitoring blood glucose method that required daily fingertip blood sampling, this medical device enhances patient convenience.

It also includes customizable alert functions that send warning alarms in advance when there are rapid changes in blood glucose levels. This helps patients manage hypoglycemia in real-time and proactively. Blood glucose values are automatically measured even during times when self-monitoring is not possible, such as during sleep or exercise, and real-time glucose levels can be shared with up to 10 people, including the patient’s family and caregivers. In particular, it allows detailed monitoring not only of glucose concentration but also of trends and fluctuations, enabling systematic blood glucose management.

Additionally, through features such as ▲patient-customizable alert sounds ▲simplified application ▲individual packaging release, Huons plans to provide patients with various options and diabetes management solutions. Along with the launch, Huons will establish patient education and counseling programs for proper blood glucose management, as well as information provision programs for healthcare professionals.

A Huons representative stated, “With Dexcom G7, daily blood glucose management for diabetes patients is improving, raising expectations among the medical community and diabetes patients alike. We will continue to strive to enhance convenience in diabetes management through the launch of Dexcom G7 and help improve the quality of life for diabetes patients.”
