Hanssem, 2.8 Times Increase from Jan 1-12 Compared to Same Period Last Year

As the "bedbug fear" spreads, demand for home care services is increasing.

According to Hanssem on the 14th, mattress care orders between the 1st and 12th of this month increased 2.8 times compared to the same period last year.
Hanssem Home Care provides residential space management services categorized by kitchen, bathroom, furniture, home appliances, home cleaning, and interior remodeling. Once a desired product is selected, a care master who has received professional training visits the home to offer customized space care such as coating, disassembly cleaning, and sterilization. A Hanssem representative explained, "Mattress care orders have been on the rise compared to last year due to the recent bedbug outbreak issue. Reflecting this, we plan to strengthen pest control and sterilization care as well as mattress furniture care services."
Chungho Nice reported that inquiries for mattress care services increased by 20% in October compared to the same month last year. Chungho Nice’s mattress care includes contamination measurement, prime care and washing, body and side care, mite repellent coating, and UV stick sterilization. Care masters visit every four months and manage using professional equipment from the U.S. home care brand Culby, employing eco-friendly and dual sterilization methods.
A Chungho Nice representative said, "Demand for comfortable sleep is increasing, and hygiene has recently become important, so consumer interest in mattress care is rising. Mattress care is actually a service with high customer satisfaction, and through various promotions, we will enable many customers to experience it."
Coway’s mattress rental care service is also gaining attention. The service consists of seven steps including cleaning the bed frame, side edges, and mattress, followed by UV sterilization and mite patch replacement.
Coway has also been grouped as a bedbug-related stock in the stock market. Due to strong third-quarter performance and the bedbug issue, the stock price, which was 43,550 KRW as of the closing price on the 30th of last month, rose to 51,300 KRW the day before, an increase of 17.8% in two weeks. During the same period, the KOSPI rose by 4.03%. Researcher Jo Sang-hoon of Shinhan Investment Corp. analyzed, "The recent bedbug-related issue has heightened interest in hygiene, which is also positive."
Cuckoo Homesys is preparing a service that can professionally care for bedbugs. A Cuckoo Homesys representative said, "We plan to launch a bedbug-related service soon."
