On the 13th, Gyeonggi Province held the "2023 2nd Gyeonggi Province-Bank of Korea Gyeonggi Headquarters Policy Council" at the Bank of Korea Gyeonggi Headquarters' new building in Gwanggyo to discuss the "Plan to Enhance Financial Support Efficiency for SMEs in the Gyeonggi Region," which includes this content.
The Gyeonggi Province-Bank of Korea Gyeonggi Headquarters Policy Council was established to discuss major economic issues in the Gyeonggi region after the two institutions signed a business agreement on December 27 last year to promote regional economic development and exchange cooperation.
According to the agreement made that day, the Bank of Korea Gyeonggi Headquarters will provide SME support funds (C2 funds) totaling up to 500 billion KRW by 2030 to alleviate the financial burden on SMEs and small business owners in Gyeonggi Province and to expand liquidity support for promising SMEs. The Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation will also expand linked guarantees for this purpose.
Additionally, they pledged to cooperate in conducting in-depth analysis of the soundness of vulnerable SMEs and small business owners in the province and to prepare countermeasures.
Yeom Tae-young, Deputy Governor for Economy of Gyeonggi Province, emphasized, "Many SMEs are continuing tight management following the first half of the year due to worsening financial conditions. It is necessary to expand support for promising SMEs facing difficulties in financing while strengthening guarantee soundness to operate the Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation’s projects stably."
