On the 21st, the Ministry of Health and Welfare held a working meeting of the 'Telemedicine Pilot Project Advisory Group.' The advisory group includes the Ministry of Health and Welfare, medical associations, and related industries.

At the meeting, the Ministry stated that cases suspected of deliberately violating the pilot project guidelines, such as failing to verify patient identity or intentionally treating patients not eligible for the pilot project, were confirmed.

It also warned that even during the pilot project's guidance period, if intentional violations are proven or guidelines are repeatedly breached, administrative sanctions and other disadvantages may occur. The Ministry requested medical institutions, pharmacies, and platform companies to be informed about the pilot project details and the purpose of the guidance period.

In response, the industry reported that various measures have been taken to inform about the pilot project, including internal notices, telephone explanations to medical institutions, and sharing of pilot project guidelines and official documents, and pledged to make efforts to ensure more institutions comply with the guidelines.

The Ministry also listened to suggestions related to the pilot project and decided to continue related discussions through future advisory group meetings. Lee Hyung-hoon, Director of Health and Medical Policy, said, "As the temporary telemedicine period ends and the telemedicine pilot project begins, we will actively communicate with the advisory group to ensure that the pilot project protects public health and allows patients and medical professionals to use telemedicine with confidence."
