Psychopath Diagnosis Test Scores Exceed Normal Range
Jeong Yoo-jeong (23), who murdered a woman in her 20s she met through an online tutoring app and disposed of the body, has been reported to have psychopathy test scores exceeding the normal range.
According to the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency on the 6th, the police are analyzing the results of the psychopathy test conducted on Jeong Yoo-jeong. The police believe that Jeong Yoo-jeong does not fall within the normal range and are expected to submit the comprehensive judgment results to the prosecution as early as the 7th.
The psychopathy test consists of 20 questions with a total score of 40 points. In Korea, a score of 25 or higher is generally considered psychopathic, while in the United States, a score of 30 or higher is the threshold. It is known that ordinary people typically score around 15 points.
In addition to these scores, the psychopathy diagnosis is comprehensively determined by clinical experts based on the subject’s past behavior, developmental history, psychiatric diagnoses, previous criminal acts, and profiler interview results.
The police conducted the psychopathy test as a supplementary investigation because, although Jeong Yoo-jeong confessed to the crime, the motive remains unclear.
The prosecution, which received the case on the 2nd, plans to continue the investigation until the detention period of Jeong Yoo-jeong expires on the 11th and intends to extend the detention period once more if necessary.
