Amid controversy over the claim by People Power Party lawmaker Lee Yong-ho that a five-member group centered around Kim Ki-hyun, the party leader, controls the party's decision-making, former leader Lee Jun-seok stated that the circulating list of the five-member group is a "list without substance" and announced that the actual list will be revealed next week.
On the 2nd, former leader Lee said on SBS's 'Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show' regarding the circulating list of the five-member group, "This is an official meeting body. This list was made up to cover up," expressing this view.
Earlier, on the 30th, lawmaker Lee caused controversy by stating on CBS radio that "the Supreme Council meeting is just a formality, and important core agenda decisions are made by the five-member group." The five-member group is said to include Park Dae-chul, Policy Committee Chair, Lee Cheol-gyu, Secretary-General, Park Sung-min, Deputy Head of Strategic Planning, Bae Hyun-jin, Deputy Head of Organization, and Park Soo-hyun, Director of the Yeouido Research Institute. However, all of them are party officials, and the People Power Party explains this as "a working meeting with party officials."
However, former leader Lee said about the currently known five-member group list, "If it actually operated that way, it would be a well-functioning organization, but there is no way it operates like that. Because the people within the official meeting system are the ones holding meetings. Rather, it is unlikely to operate that way, and if I were to make a list, I would make it differently. That list will be disclosed around next week."
When asked by the host whether lawmaker Jang Je-won, known as 'Yunhaekgwan (Yoon Seok-yeol's key associate),' is included in the list, former leader Lee said, "Such a person would probably be more displeased to be mentioned as one of the five-member group here. Such people will probably be excluded from the list," adding, "Former National Intelligence Service Director Park Ji-won was always good at making lists during the Park Geun-hye administration, creating things like 'Manhoe Sanghwan' and the 'Sipsangsi' list. Now, if the Yoon Seok-yeol administration's state governance does not become transparent and if party management is not transparent, about ten different versions of such lists will come out."
