- Gimpo City-Incheon Seo-gu Joint Cooperation 'Join Hands'... Accelerating the Promotion of Line 5 Extension Project
- Both Institutions Increase Expectations Including 'Pungmu Station'... Pungmu Station Prugio City Emerging as a Beneficiary Complex
Gimpo City in Gyeonggi Province and Seo-gu in Incheon have joined hands to promote the long-awaited extension of Seoul Subway Line 5, accelerating the 'Seoul Subway Line 5 Gimpo·Geomdan Extension Project.'
On May 21, Gimpo City and Seo-gu, Incheon announced that they had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to expedite the progress of the 'Seoul Subway Line 5 Gimpo·Geomdan Extension Project.'
The agreement states that Seo-gu, Incheon Metropolitan City, and Gimpo City, Gyeonggi Province, will cooperate jointly to swiftly advance the Seoul Subway Line 5 Gimpo·Geomdan extension project. Both institutions agreed to faithfully implement the coordination plan of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Metropolitan Area Wide-area Transportation Committee (Daegwangwi) according to the MOU.
With Seo-gu, Incheon, and Gimpo City signing the MOU on route planning and other matters, the Seoul Subway Line 5 extension project has gained momentum. Notably, the signing ceremony was attended by Minister Won Hee-ryong of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Kang Hee-up, Standing Member of Daegwangwi, who led the agreement between the two sides. They expressed plans to actively work toward exempting the project from preliminary feasibility studies, raising expectations even higher.
In this situation, interest in real estate around the planned extension route is also refocusing in Gimpo City and Seo-gu, Incheon. The most notable area is around Pungmu Station on the Gimpo Gold Line, as both institutions' extension plans include this station.
An industry insider said, "Although the exact location and stations of the route have not yet been finalized, Pungmu Station is included in both institutions' extension plans, so it is widely expected that the extension line will pass through here. With the addition of Seoul Subway Line 5 to the existing Gimpo Gold Line, the routes to Seoul will diversify, significantly improving accessibility. This is prompting active movements among demanders aiming to secure future value."
Meanwhile, near Pungmu Station, 'Pungmu Station Prugio City,' supplied by Daewoo E&C, is being recognized as a beneficiary complex, attracting continuous visits from potential buyers.
Pungmu Station Prugio City is a residential officetel being constructed in Block 10, Lot 2 of the Pungmu 2 District Urban Development Project Area in Pungmu-dong, Gimpo City. It consists of one building with four basement floors and ten above-ground floors, totaling 288 units with exclusive areas ranging from 64 to 82 square meters.
Since Pungmu Station Prugio City is within walking distance of Pungmu Station, it is expected to directly benefit from the opening of the Seoul Subway Line 5 extension, enabling direct access to major areas in Seoul.
A sales representative stated, "Inquiries from demanders are increasing daily due to the positive expectations surrounding the Line 5 extension at Pungmu Station. Contracts are progressing smoothly, with interest coming not only from actual users commuting to Seoul but also from investors seeking to secure growing rental demand."
Meanwhile, Pungmu Station Prugio City is located two stations away from Gimpo Airport Station, accessible on foot from Pungmu Station. From Gimpo Airport Station, transfers to Subway Lines 5 and 9 and the Airport Railroad allow travel to major business districts in Seoul such as Magok District, DMC, Yeouido, Gwanghwamun, and Gangnam.
The complex boasts excellent residential conditions, being adjacent to Gimpo Sinpung Elementary School and close to lifestyle convenience facilities such as E-Mart Traders Gimpo Branch, Homeplus Gimpo Pungmu Branch, and CGV. Additionally, nearby green spaces and cultural facilities include Seonsu Park, Saejangteo Park, Gimpo Sports Complex, Pungmu National Sports Center, and Gimpo Citizens' Hall Indoor Gymnasium, providing a pleasant living environment.
Furthermore, Daewoo E&C plans to apply differentiated designs, including in-unit temperature control systems, sensor-operated water-saving sink faucets, bathroom floor heating, built-in kimchi refrigerators, built-in combination refrigerators, and compact drum washing machines to enhance convenience. Landscaping spaces such as rooftop gardens, terrace gardens, and the communal resting yard in the public area will also be arranged to improve comfort.
Pungmu Station Prugio City is currently operating a model house and is running a limited-time event offering a 10kg bag of rice to consultation customers at the model house while supplies last.
