The People Power Party strongly criticized Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, by citing the prosecution's claims from the trial related to the preferential development scandal in Wirye and Daejang-dong.
On the 1st, Jang Dong-hyuk, the floor spokesperson for the People Power Party, stated in a commentary, "The alibi of Jeong Jin-sang, former Political Coordination Officer of the Democratic Party leader’s office, who is on trial for bribery charges, only reveals the hypocrisy and facade of Lee Jae-myung (then mayor)."
Spokesperson Jang said, "Jeong denied the criminal charges in court by claiming that there were CCTV cameras installed in Seongnam City, so there was no place to receive bribes," and added, "However, according to the prosecution’s findings, 'the CCTV in Jeong’s office was a dummy model not connected to any circuit.'" He further noted, "It was essentially a fake tin-can CCTV installed just for show."
Jang added, "Now the public is doubting what to believe from Lee Jae-myung’s words," and said, "Living every day of the year like April Fool’s Day, at this point, it’s uncertain whether even the name 'Lee Jae-myung' can be trusted."
Through a commentary, spokesperson Kim Min-su said, "Lee Jae-myung’s 'bulletproof train' is becoming a 'reckless train' that is ruining even the national administration," and stated, "The Democratic Party is preparing for even fiercer recklessness to protect their strongholds and vested interests, and to defend their own side, following the unilateral passage of the 'Grain Management Act,' as well as the 'Yellow Envelope Act,' 'Broadcasting Act,' and 'Nurses Act.'"
Spokesperson Kim pointed out, "The Democratic Party is spreading not only the 'Death Song' that stirs anti-Japanese sentiment but also rumors about Fukushima contaminated water and the import of Fukushima agricultural products, inciting fear about food safety," and added, "If they continue to fabricate and spread repeated Fukushima-related rumors, it is an admission that the Democratic Party’s goal is not the livelihood of the people but 'national administration collapse.'"
