In his commemorative speech, President Yoon congratulated, saying, "Last year, seafood exports exceeded 3 billion dollars for the first time," and urged, "I ask fisheries workers and related ministries to become one team to foster strategic export items such as seaweed, oysters, abalone, and fish cakes, which are called the black semiconductors."

He particularly stressed the urgent need for the "smartization of the fisheries industry." President Yoon elaborated, "Applying advanced digital technologies to the fisheries industry not only improves productivity but also promotes the influx of young people into the sector, directly leading to job creation." He continued, "The government will actively promote research and development for the future growth industrialization of fisheries, such as smart aquaculture and food tech, while boldly removing regulations that hinder private investment. We will establish a world-class fishery safety management system so that fishermen can operate with peace of mind."

Meanwhile, President Yoon also recalled his campaign experience in Tongyeong on February 19 last year during the presidential election, saying, "I have not forgotten the support and encouragement I received in Tongyeong." He also promised to carefully oversee the construction of the Hansan Victory Bridge, which connects the inland area of Tongyeong and the island regions such as Hansando.
