[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Lotte Hotel Seoul announced on the 25th that it will hold an invited event featuring popular desserts by the famous Japanese patissier ‘Yoroizuka Toshihiko’ at a pop-up store and the hotel restaurant from August 3 to 9.
This is the first time in three years that Lotte Hotel Seoul is hosting a foreign chef invitation event. In particular, this event offers an opportunity to experience popular desserts from Japan, a dessert powerhouse, at reasonable prices.
Patissier Yoroizuka has built a solid career of about 35 years in Japan and Europe. After winning at the Paris Baking Expo, he gained fame as a patissier at a Michelin 3-star restaurant in Belgium. Currently, he operates a dessert cafe under his own name in Japan and also serves as a judge on baking-related TV programs.
For this event, Patissier Yoroizuka will stay in Korea for a week starting from the 2nd of next month and showcase desserts together with the Lotte Hotel Seoul bakery team.
Lotte Hotel Seoul will operate a pop-up store in the food hall on the basement first floor of the Lotte Department Store main branch, selling seven types of Yoroizuka’s popular petit gateaux and five types of pastries.
The menu has been prepared with sweet and sour desserts tailored to domestic customers’ tastes. It includes Lemon Mont Blanc topped with honey-soaked lemon and lemon cream on moist cake sponge, Peach Tart baked with almond cream and preserved peach in puff pastry, Pistachio Choux filled with pistachio coulis and cream, and parfaits with pineapple, raspberries, and blueberries.
The pastries consist of popular items loved by all ages, such as onion cheese rolls with a chewy texture made by adding roll cheese, pea cheese rolls, cream cheese baguettes, and blueberry Danish.
