Asiana Airlines Resumes Operations on Incheon~Beijing Route

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Asiana Airlines announced on the 20th that it will resume flights between Incheon and Beijing after 2 years and 4 months.

The flight to Beijing will start its first service on the 23rd and operate once a week every Saturday. It departs from Incheon International Airport at 8:20 AM and arrives at Beijing Capital International Airport at 9:40 AM. The return flight departs Beijing at 12:40 PM local time and arrives at Incheon Airport at 3:55 PM.

The resumption of the Incheon-Beijing route comes after it was suspended in March 2020 due to the impact of COVID-19, marking 2 years and 4 months since the suspension. An A330 aircraft will be deployed to provide passengers with a comfortable and safe flight.

An Asiana Airlines official stated, “The Incheon-Beijing route was a key route for Korea-China political and economic exchanges with an annual demand of about 1.1 million passengers before COVID-19,” adding, “Since the need to resume flights has been continuously discussed, we will do our best to operate the route to enhance convenience for customers from both countries and plan to gradually expand operations in the future.”

To commemorate the resumption of the Incheon-Beijing route, Asiana Airlines will also run various promotions. For three months from the start of operations, benefits such as ▲special fare tickets ▲free additional checked baggage ▲a dedicated counter for the Incheon-Beijing route (at Incheon Airport) will be provided. Meanwhile, Asiana Airlines currently operates the Incheon-Beijing route as well as Incheon-Nanjing, Incheon-Changchun, and Incheon-Harbin routes once a week each. Through expanding flights between Korea and China, the airline plans to continue serving as a bridge for economic cooperation between the two countries.
