[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Incheon Technopark (Incheon TP), together with Incheon City, is officially launching the 'Incheon-type Specialized Robot Demonstration Support Project.'
On the 15th, Incheon TP announced that it will discover service models for logistics, professional service, and entertainment robots that leverage the characteristics and strengths of the Incheon regional industry, providing step-by-step support from product development to demonstration and commercialization.
This year, Incheon TP selected EV Suseong Co., Ltd. and Yujin Robot Co., Ltd. (both logistics robots), Idle Co., Ltd. (professional service robots), and Ssambot Co., Ltd. (entertainment robots) as supported companies, providing 200 million KRW each for logistics robots and 40 million KRW each for professional service and entertainment robots.
EV Suseong, which developed an unmanned loading robot system (unmanned forklift) applying autonomous driving technology, is carefully inspecting product efficiency through pallet loading operations at the material warehouse of Lipmen Co., Ltd., a desiccant manufacturer.
Yujin Robot is deploying the logistics robot GoCart equipped with a customized unit for transporting ophthalmic lens trays at the production facility of Essilor Korea Co., Ltd., a lens manufacturer, to assess the optimal automation configuration.
Additionally, Idle operates an autonomous cleaning robot with vacuum and wet mop cleaning functions at Incheon National University by improving control software (SW), conducting demonstrations of efficient cleaning functionality in large spaces.
Ssambot, which developed four types of robots with flipping, pushing, rotational attack, and running functions, is verifying marketability through multiple uses such as the Korea Coding Drone Makers' robot competition.
Through these demonstrations, companies will supplement product functions and proceed with commercialization by launching highly refined products.
An Incheon TP official stated, "Last year, we expanded the scope of corporate support through the establishment and advancement of a logistics robot testbed and the construction of a robot demonstration support center," adding, "We will support corporate growth by discovering and nurturing Incheon-type specialized robot convergence models."
