[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] GS25 announced on the 1st that the Won Soju popup store opened in Busan has been gaining great popularity among consumers from the very first day.
GS25 and One Spirits opened the popup store ‘GS One’ yesterday in the cafe street of Jeonpo-dong, Busan. Entry to the popup store was conducted through a waiting system on-site starting from 10:30 AM, and customers lined up from early dawn. On the first day alone, over 1,000 customers visited.
Within about two hours after the waiting system began, 500 customers completed registration, quickly filling all reservations. Although purchases were limited to a maximum of 8 bottles per visitor and only 15 people were allowed entry at the same time, the 3,000 bottles of Won Soju prepared for the day were rapidly sold out as soon as the store opened.
The popup store will operate until the 6th, selling a limited edition of 30,000 bottles of Won Soju during this period. Of these, 21,000 bottles will be sold at the popup store, and the remaining 9,000 bottles will be available through GS Retail’s online liquor platform Wine25Plus.
A GS Retail official stated, “The GS One popup store presented a new model of culture retail that GS25 and One Spirits will create together, beyond a simple liquor popup store,” and added, “We will also strive to quickly launch the new product Won Soju Spirit through both online and offline platforms by next month.”
