[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] On the 5th, Ahn Min-seok, a member of the Democratic Party who declared his candidacy for Gyeonggi Province governor, criticized Han Deok-soo, the nominee for Prime Minister, and Kim Dong-yeon, the candidate for Gyeonggi governor who declared his candidacy for the June local elections, saying, "The opportunistic ambition for advancement of bureaucrats is persistent and bitter."

On the same day, Ahn posted on his Facebook a post titled "Seeing the shadow of Representative Kim Dong-yeon in the opportunistic bureaucrat Han Deok-soo, the nominated Prime Minister who has advanced," saying, "At least the two of you should offer some excuse for your opportunistic actions."

Regarding nominee Han, he said, "He has held high-ranking positions under five presidents and even rose to the position of Prime Minister, making him the most successful bureaucrat," but also pointed out, "Although he served as the last Prime Minister under the Roh Moo-hyun administration, he did not attend President Roh Moo-hyun's funeral, greatly offending human decency."

He continued, "According to testimony from someone who worked at the Blue House during the Kim Dae-jung administration, Han Deok-soo is an opportunist who hid his hometown for a long time," and questioned, "Should the Democratic Party really approve him?"

Also targeting candidate Kim, Ahn said, "There is a person who served as an MB (Lee Myung-bak) administration transition committee member, as the head of the Prime Minister's Office Coordination Office (ministerial level) under the Park Geun-hye administration, holding key positions in conservative governments, and even served as Deputy Prime Minister for Economy under the Moon Jae-in administration," adding, "Although Kim served as Deputy Prime Minister for Economy, he did not hesitate to cross the line in criticizing the Moon Jae-in administration, and eventually declared his candidacy saying, 'I will judge the Moon Jae-in administration' and 'I will bring about a regime change.' Should the Democratic Party really work with him?"

He then pointed out, "The reason political change does not happen is because parties repeatedly accept candidates for public office solely based on the packaging of being successful bureaucrats," and "Once someone turns their back, betrayal happens again; this is the nature of politics."

Regarding President-elect Yoon Seok-youl, Ahn said, "I am concerned that the barbaric politics of a prosecutor general obsessed with ambition, who ungratefully intimidates the president who appointed him, might be repeated."

Finally, he concluded his post by saying, "I am troubled about how to evaluate the life trajectory and values of the opportunist Han Deok-soo at the confirmation hearing," and "It is a bitter day that reminds me of President Roh's words, 'Opportunists are subjects of co-optation, not leaders.'"
