"HiteJinro Launches Bottle Opener 'Spooner' Optimized for Terra" HiteJinro 'Spooner' Advertisement Image

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] HiteJinro announced on the 21st that it will launch the "Spooner (Spoon + Opener)," specially developed to best suit the "Clean Lager - Terra," to add new fun to consumers' drinking occasions and to turn around the stagnant market atmosphere.


HiteJinro explained that the Spooner was designed considering the average hand width of adult men and women, 142mm, and that it applies a "human eardrum-friendly" design that creates a refreshing sound of 110 decibels (dB) when opening Terra's bottle cap "Super Crown" at a 33-degree angle. Unlike conventional bottle openers that required a force of 27 newtons (N), the Spooner can be easily opened by anyone with just the strength to lift a spoon (8N). HiteJinro plans to actively carry out marketing activities utilizing the Spooner.


To commemorate the launch of the Spooner, a fake documentary-style advertisement will be released online starting today. Under the concept "A Gift for Humanity, Terra Spooner," the ad humorously conveys the motivation for developing the Spooner, its production process, and performance. The story is that South Korea's top physicist invented the Terra Spooner after long research to advance bottle openers, which have lagged behind beer. Physicist Professor Sangwook Kim appears in the advertisement.

HiteJinro has completed the design and trademark applications for the Spooner and plans to conduct various promotions centered around key commercial districts in Seoul, gradually expanding nationwide.
