[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] Inje University Ilsan Paik Hospital held a 'Groundbreaking Ceremony for Expansion and Remodeling' on the morning of the 10th at the hospital auditorium.

Additionally, the construction will include ▲expansion of the critical care treatment center ▲establishment of robotic and hybrid operating rooms ▲expansion of endoscopy and dialysis rooms ▲increase in parking spaces ▲installation of escalators in the outpatient area ▲and expansion of patient rest areas. The construction is expected to take about two years.
Chairman Lee Soon-hyung of Inje Foundation said in his congratulatory speech, "Ilsan Paik Hospital has a strong foundation, having successfully opened despite the difficult IMF crisis in 1999, so I have no doubt that all faculty and staff will work together to carry out a successful expansion project even amid the current COVID-19 crisis," and added, "I hope this will become the hospital with the best medical capabilities in the northwestern Gyeonggi region."
Director Lee Sung-soon of Ilsan Paik Hospital said, "The primary purpose of the expansion is to provide optimal treatment and better medical care to patients, which is our core value," and added, "With this expansion, patients visiting our hospital will be able to receive examinations, surgeries, and treatments more conveniently and safely than before."
Opened in December 1999, Ilsan Paik Hospital currently plays a central role in medical services in the northwestern Gyeonggi region, including Ilsan, Paju, and Gimpo, with an average annual outpatient count of 650,000 (2,500 per day), 200,000 inpatients, 14,000 surgeries, and 60,000 emergency patients.
