Introduction of Check-in and Check-out Service via Shilla Hotel Official App
Aimed at Mobile-Savvy MZ Generation...Expectations for Enhanced Quarantine and Faster Procedures
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Shilla Hotel is introducing a smart check-in and check-out service based on mobile technology. The service targets the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z), who are familiar with mobile environments, while expanding contactless services to enhance quarantine measures and speed up hotel procedures.
On the 25th, Shilla Hotel announced that it will launch mobile check-in and check-out services at Shilla Hotels in Seoul and Jeju, as well as 13 Shilla Stay locations nationwide. This service, available through the official Shilla Hotel application (app), is offered to guests who have booked through the official Shilla Hotel website or app and are members of the free membership program "Shilla Rewards."
Shilla Hotel expects that the introduction of this service will reduce the time required for check-in and check-out, thereby increasing customer convenience. It is anticipated that offline hotel procedures will be reduced by more than 30% in the future.
When introducing the mobile check-in and check-out service, Shilla Hotel focused on building an intuitive yet detailed UI (User Interface). One day before the scheduled check-in, a push notification for mobile check-in is sent to the guest’s mobile phone via the official Shilla Hotel app. Clicking this notification links to the mobile check-in page. It takes about one minute to complete the mobile check-in after reviewing the reservation details, customer information, and hotel usage guide. Guests who complete mobile check-in can quickly verify their identity and payment information at the front desk on the day of check-in, receive their room key, and proceed to their room.
Mobile check-out can be done on the morning of the check-out day. Guests who have completed prepayment at check-in can follow the procedure on the official Shilla Hotel app to check out, then return their room key either to the key drop box provided or the front desk before leaving.
Meanwhile, to commemorate the introduction of the mobile check-in and check-out service, Shilla Hotel is running a promotion exclusively for "Shilla Rewards" members. During the promotion period, all members who use mobile check-in and check-out through the official Shilla Hotel app will receive a voucher depending on the hotel they stay at: a KRW 10,000 voucher for rooms at Seoul Shilla Hotel and Jeju Shilla Hotel, or a KRW 5,000 voucher for rooms at Shilla Stay. This promotion runs from the 7th to the 28th of next month, with coupons scheduled to be issued via the app on March 4th after the promotion ends.
A Shilla Hotel representative explained, "The mobile check-in and check-out service is designed for the convenience of the MZ generation, who are accustomed to mobile and contactless environments," adding, "we will continue to expand digital-based services in preparation for the 'post-COVID' era, when hotel guests are expected to increase."
