North Korea Emphasizes 'Self-Reliance' to Achieve New Year Tasks

The Workers' Party organ, Rodong Sinmun, reported on the 3rd in an article titled "Under the Leadership of the Respected General Secretary, We Will Also Achieve Victory on the New Year's Journey," stating, "Self-reliance is precisely the fundamental guarantee that allows us to victoriously advance the combative journey of the New Year."

It continued, "This is the principle of life that we deeply internalized through unprecedented trials and vigorous struggles last year, and the victorious sword we have grasped even more firmly as we look ahead to a new path of progress," it claimed.

It encouraged the implementation of the decisions of the Workers' Party plenary meeting through 'self-reliance' in the New Year as well.

Rodong Sinmun emphasized, "The year 2022 is an important year to carry out the decisions of the 8th Party Congress, requiring a vast struggle comparable to last year," and added, "On our shoulders lies the heavy historical mission to thoroughly and perfectly execute the combative tasks presented by the 4th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Party with a hundredfold effort and driving force."

It further urged, "If you are a member of the Workers' Party of Korea, you must be a resolute devotee who smiles while overcoming snowy and muddy roads, and no matter how difficult or hard the task, if the Party desires it, you must regard it as a combat mission and carry it out to the end."

Then it called out, "If we all connect this belief and will with a passionate breath, there will be no adversity we cannot overcome with our own hands, and no ridge we cannot cross by our own strength."
