Lee Jun-seok "We Are Superior to the Democratic Party's 12th Graders" Sharing High School Student Speech to Criticize the Ruling Party On the 6th, Lee Jun-seok, the leader of the People Power Party, shared a video of Kim Min-gyu, a high school senior, giving a speech at the party's election committee launch ceremony on Facebook, writing, "Our high school seniors will be superior to the Democratic Party's high school seniors."

[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Juhee] Lee Jun-seok, the leader of the People Power Party, highly praised Kim Min-gyu, a high school senior who gave a speech at the party's election committee launch ceremony, claiming that "our high school seniors are superior to the Democratic Party's high school seniors."

On the 6th, Lee shared a video of Kim's speech on his Facebook, saying, "Everyone should watch this video at least once. Party member Kim Min-gyu will surely have a day when he writes a candidate's speech and delivers a support speech for the candidate." Kim was the youngest challenger in the People Power Party spokesperson selection debate battle called 'I am the National Representative' and advanced to the quarterfinals.

On that day, Kim gave a speech with the keyword "dissonance," receiving multiple rounds of applause from the audience during his speech. Kim emphasized, "The footsteps of the People Power Party have always been dissonant. On the journey of the presidential election voyage, our concept must be dissonance," adding, "What truly excites people is something that stands out among similar things. We must create a new work that can move the people differently from them (the Democratic Party)."

Kim also praised Lee and presidential candidate Yoon Seok-yeol, saying, "We are a party established by a 30-something party leader who could not be understood by Yeouido's rules," and "A party with a candidate who is loyal not to organizations or people like others, but loyal to fairness and the rule of law."

In response, Lee evaluated, "Our high school seniors are superior to the Democratic Party's high school seniors." The "Democratic Party high school seniors" Lee referred to is presumed to be Nam Jin-hee, an 18-year-old high school senior appointed as co-chair of the Democratic Party's Gwangju regional election committee.

Earlier, on the 28th of last month, Lee criticized the Democratic Party's appointment of Nam as an election committee chair during an interview on CBS Radio's "Kim Hyun-jung's News Show," saying, "When we had the debate battle, 19-year-old Kim Min-gyu participated and reached the quarterfinals but was eliminated. Kim got a chance and competed, but the person who became the Democratic Party election committee chair was just appointed," delivering a critical message.

However, some pointed out Lee's use of the term "superior." Comments on Lee's post included criticisms such as, "What does superiority mean coming from the party leader talking about kids? There are limits even in politics," and, "'Our high school seniors vs. Democratic Party high school seniors'?why divide the same high school seniors? You're instilling hatred and competitiveness in children. This seems to have crossed a line," labeling the remarks as inappropriate.
