Park Yoochun Visits Thailand for Concert and Smokes
[Asia Economy Reporter Na Ye-eun] Actor Park Yoo-hwan (30), known as the younger brother of singer and actor Park Yoo-chun (35), who was involved in controversies such as drug use and sexual assault allegations, is under police investigation for smoking marijuana.
According to Yonhap News on the 3rd, the Gyeonggi Southern Provincial Police Agency recently booked Park Yoo-hwan without detention on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.
Park Yoo-hwan, who is reported to have visited Thailand last December to appear at Park Yoo-chun's concert, is suspected of smoking marijuana with two companions at a restaurant in Bangkok.
Both Park Yoo-hwan and his companions have admitted to the charges, and the police plan to summon Park Yoo-hwan for questioning soon.
His older brother, Park Yoo-chun, was also prosecuted in 2019 on drug use charges and was sentenced to 10 months in prison with a 2-year probation.

Park Yoo-hwan is known to have continued communicating with fans through broadcasts until the 31st of last month.
Previously, when Park Yoo-chun faced public criticism over drug use and lying controversies, Park Yoo-hwan conducted broadcasts defending his older brother. In particular, he expressed opinions to the effect that "Park Yoo-chun is innocent," conveying this to fans and asking for their support and encouragement.
