'2021 Korea Innovation Expo' Content Selected for Hampyeong Drive-in Theater

‘In the COVID Era, ON (溫) with the County Residents through Untact!’ Theme

[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Hampyeong-gun is sharing the successful innovation case of the ‘Hampyeong Drive-in Theater,’ which is rapidly emerging as a key cultural and tourism resource in the region, with the entire nation.

On the 1st, Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will participate in the online exhibition category of the ‘2021 Korea Innovation Expo,’ hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on the 31st of last month, under the theme ‘Untact with the citizens in the COVID era, ON (溫)!’

Earlier, the county participated in a demand survey for innovation cases conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety targeting public institutions nationwide, and after expert review, the Hampyeong Drive-in Theater was finally selected as the content for the Innovation Expo in September.

The Hampyeong Drive-in Theater is gaining attention as a non-face-to-face cultural facility in the ‘With COVID’ (gradual recovery of daily life) era, and is highly praised for providing cultural welfare experience opportunities to residents with limited access to cultural enjoyment.

Additionally, leveraging its non-face-to-face nature, it is used not only for movie viewing but also as a ‘non-face-to-face’ venue for various meetings and events, establishing itself as a communication space for local residents.

In March, the county successfully conducted the nation’s first non-face-to-face ‘Dialogue with Citizens’ at the Hampyeong Drive-in Theater, and has continued innovative and communicative administration during the COVID-19 era by holding various events such as the Agricultural University entrance ceremony and Health Day commemorative ceremony.

County Governor Lee Sang-ik said, “The Hampyeong Drive-in Theater is a product of communication, harmony, and innovative administration, and will be a cornerstone for building a ‘New Leap, Hopeful Hampyeong.’ We will actively discover innovative cases in the future to bring about changes that citizens can feel.”
