[Asia Economy Reporter Seoyoung Kwon] Yoon Seok-yeol, the former Prosecutor General and presidential candidate of the People Power Party, attracted attention by appearing on SNL Korea.
On the 30th, Yoon appeared on the SNL Korea segment "Reporter Joo Goes." "Reporter Joo Goes" is a segment hosted by actor Joo Hyun-young, who plays the role of a reporter. On this day, Reporter Joo asked Yoon difficult questions and conducted a so-called "balance game," requiring him to make choices, which drew attention.
When Reporter Joo asked, "Choose the better option between working in my camp or working in Lee Jae-myung's camp," Yoon replied, "I dislike both. Do I have to choose?" and then said, "Then it’s better if Candidate Lee works in my camp." When asked, "Ordering jajangmyeon on the day you move after taking out a loan to buy your own house, or living debt-free in Candidate Lee’s long-term rental housing," he answered, "Even if I have to take out a loan, it’s much better to buy my own house and eat jajangmyeon."
Also, when Reporter Joo asked, "If you were born again, would you marry your current wife again or become president?" Yoon answered, "Definitely number 1 (the former)." Even when asked, "Is that a really certain answer?" he said, "(The recorded video) will be released," and "If you ask any man in Korea, they would have to answer the former."
On this day, Yoon also conveyed a message to young people through an impression of actor Joo Hyun (80). He said, "Don’t be discouraged and have courage," and when asked about his determination, he emphasized, "You must have been very stressed under the 'double standards' administration, but I will make sure the people don’t have to be stressed."
Meanwhile, prominent presidential candidates have been appearing one after another on "Reporter Joo Goes." Previously, People Power Party presidential candidate Hong Joon-pyo and Justice Party presidential candidate Shim Sang-jung appeared, and on November 6, Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, is scheduled to appear.
